At The Boot Inn, when it comes to food, we like to keep it fresh and healthy. All of our dishes where possible are home-cooked and in many cases our own unique recipes that you won't find anywhere else. We are not "out there" bringing ground-breaking dishes that when you read the flowery description you are no wiser what you are ordering and start to wonder if the school you went to really prepared you for life. Or maybe you mistook the menu for your friends get-by-in-latin phrasebook...? Our stir-fry is not very complicated - but you will go along way to get a better one! Our slow cooked pork is just pork, but it will melt in your mouth in a gravy you will crave on Sundays... Our veggie penne dish is quite uncommon in that it is not bland and uninteresting and just added as a token to appease. It is tasty, very, even for animal murderers - in which case we chuck in some chopped bacon ;-) (Sorry but vegetables feel pain too! lol). Our rump steak is nothing complicated but something special. (Not messed-about-with, as my mother would say...) Our Tiramisu is quite unusual - a little gem with very light and healthy ingredients, just a whiff of Amaretto, but it packs a punch! Just what you need to round off a meal without rounding off yourself. Our rhubarb crumble is lower in fat and sugar than what passes as normal elsewhere and won't leave you un-tightening your belt either, but it's still a classic. We don't over-prescribe sugar and salt to disguise empty, bland and heavy food.We use sensible amounts and widen the taste with an array of more healthy alternatives, just as you would at home if you were trying to be healthy!  We can achieve this because at The Boot we like to use fresh raw ingredients and prepare everything in house, down to the chunky chips. If you have a keen palette you can tell the difference! We even prefer to squeeze a lime over a freshly chopped Greek salad rather than using lime juice, it has more life! We avoid convenience preparations where practical. Our freezer is very, very small, barely enough room for a bit of Cornish clotted ice cream, so certainly no room for convenience defrosting bleep-bleep. The result we aim to achieve is the kind of meal that you might go to great effort to achieve at home on a very special occasion, but we make the effort for you and add a bit of panache and dare we say it, love, too. Sit back, enjoy it, the price won't give you indigestion either, even with the bottle of wine.
